In order to enjoy the original taste of sake, we recommend storing it in an environment with as little change in quality as possible.
In order to enjoy the original taste of sake, we recommend storing it in an environment with as little change in quality as possible.
① Temperature
Avoid storing sake in places where the temperature is high or changes rapidly. With the exception of sake that has not been heat-treated and requires refrigeration, we recommend storing ordinary sake in a cool, dark place at 18°C or below. For higher quality sake, an environment of between 1°C and 5°C is ideal if you are looking for less change in quality.
② UV light
UV rays from sunlight and fluorescent lights can cause deterioration of sake. If it is difficult to find a dark place to store sake, wrap it in paper or cloth to avoid UV rays.
③ Storage time
Ordinary sake can be stored in a cool, dark place at 18°C or below for up to one year, or for two to three months after opening the bottle. For vintage sake, the appropriate storage period depends on how it was made.
